Rhetorical Analysis of a Space

While analyzing the new science wing, I couldn't help but notice some very distinctive characteristics that do not relate to the rest of the college. First, you would notice how throughout the "old" section of Lewis, there are very little windows and all of the colors are of a "beige" hue. Upon entering the new science wing, its very different than that pattern. The colors are very modern, the majority of the walls and features are a soft grey, and the bright red cherry wood is very prominent. I think that they structured the building in such a modern way because science is very "modern" so to speak in the fact that it is constantly changing and being updated.
Second, I noticed that the new wing was very open. There are so many windows and open staircases so everything has a very open outdoor feel. I think this was done because the best way to study science and biology is by being outdoors where it is taking place. By having a very open area it allows students who are studying to be seemingly outdoors with what they are studying, and if they so wish, there is also an outdoor seating area where they can go to really be outside with nature.

For the Rhetorical Analysis I found an ad for Absolut Vodka that struck my interest. Here is the ad!

Snow Day Activity

Upon reading this assignment I couldn't help but think about the choices I made in high school that I had to overcome. I was half way through high school and I began to notice that the "friends" I was associating with were not that much like me at all. As much as I wanted to believe that they were my "true" friends, at the end of the day I knew that they were not people I felt I could belong with.
So, even though letting go of my "fake" friends and starting over half way through high school was not the easiest decision I have ever made, I finally began to notice how much better I felt finding my TRUE friends and being so much more content at the end of the day.
I learned so much about myself, especially that starting over isn't always a bad thing, and a new perspective is not something to be afraid of.
